How is Zack still waiting?!
This sweet boy came to MMAR from a hoarding situation with 22 other dogs, and the transformation he’s made is nothing short of amazing.
Zack is a 5-year-old, 25 lb Chihuahua mix, neutered, full of love, and ready to be someone’s loyal sidekick. He’s been in foster for about three months and his foster mom cannot believe he’s still overlooked.
Zack has been learning how to “dog” in a home, and he is doing so well! ✔️ House-trained (still working on perfecting his “I need outside” signal) ✔️ Walks like a rockstar on leash ✔️ Comfortable in a crate, but also does great left out ✔️ Living with dogs and cats
Adjusting to home life after a hoarding case took a little time, but Zack has figured it out and is now part of the pack. He continues to learn new skills every day and is so eager to bond with his person.
His ideal home would be a quieter household where he can feel safe and settled. He hasn’t had much experience with kids, but his interactions so far have been positive.
Zack is affectionate, devoted, and ready to leave his past behind for good. He doesn’t need perfection — just patience, love, and someone willing to let him be their little shadow.

********************************************************************************** We show some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm. Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment. If you are interested in a particular pet, we suggest you email: mmarpaws@gmail.com to see if that pet will be there.
Applications are approved on the basis of the best and most appropriate home for the animal, not on a first come, first served basis. On site adoption available to pre-approved applicants only.
Adoption fees go towards vaccines, heartworm prevention/testing, flea/tick prevention, spay/neuter and other medical problems that may arise.
MMAR is an all volunteer, foster based, 501 (c) 3, non profit organization. Without your donation, wonderful pets like these have to be passed by because we cannot afford their care.
