Hello, my name is Hunter. I am a 75 Pound Pit Bull/Chocolate Lab mix who is CALM and AFFECTIONATE. I am 4-Years-Old and I know the basic OBEDIENCE COMMANDS and I am HOUSE and CRATE TRAINED too! I love PEOPLE and I am in urgent need of a FOSTER or PERMANENT HOME. Please keep reading! My Current Situation! A VERY nice couple came to my rescue 2 years ago. They took me in then in hopes to find me a permanent home. Well, 2 years later, they need to MOVE and CANNOT take me with them. It breaks their heart, but they are hoping this posting will assist in finding me either a FOSTER HOME or PERMANENT HOME by the end of May, 2020. Questions - Want to Meet - Want to Help? Linda will return Calls, Texts and/or EMAILS in the evening and/or weekends as she has to work during the day. My Couch Potato Personality! My current Foster Family says my favorite activity is NAPPING or SNUGGLING as close as possible. I will CURL UP by my FOSTER MOM's feet and put my HEAD in HER LAP - I am such a sweetie! I will also curl up at her feet too! I am a Good Boy! My current Foster Family says I am very WELL BEHAVED. I am very respectful of all their belongings - I have NEVER chewed up anything of theirs. I also do NOT BEG! That is saying a lot for my breed! I will NOT even touch food that is left on their counters - again, I am such a GOOD BOY!! I LOVE PEOPLE! I LOVE my Foster Family very much. I will FOLLOW them from ROOM to ROOM as I want to be with them. I am NOT overly clingy though. My Foster Mom says sometimes I fall asleep on the sofa, and she moves to another room. I don't wake up as I am a sound sleeper. More on My Love of People!! I will GREET my Foster Family with lots of TAIL WAGS and BODY WIGGLES when they come home. I am equally as Happy To MEET NEW PEOPLE. The only bad thing is I will JUMP on PEOPLE when I first meet them. I am so happy to see them, I cannot contain my excitement and joy. My Foster Family says I calm down quickly and then I am more polite around the new people. I am a SMART and EAGER TO PLEASE Doggie! I am a SMART DOGGIE who wants to make my FAMILY HAPPY! I know the SIT, DOWN, COME and STAY commands. I am also House and Crate Trained. Just say "Kennel" and I will go into my Crate. I even know the SHAKE PAW command - isn't that fun!!! More on My Training! My Foster Family says I am very FOOD MOTIVATED and EAGER to PLEASE. I enjoy learning new things. Won't you teach me some new tricks? Learning really is fun!!!! My Fun Side! My Foster Mom says I am mostly a CALM, COUCH POTATO, but occasionally I will PLAY. My FAVORITE GAME is TUG. I am WELL BEHAVED with this GAME as I will TUG and DROP the TOY when you say the word DROP. I know....I am FUN and RESPECTFUL too!! More on My Personality! Like I said, I am a WELL BEHAVED doggie who loves to SNUGGLE with my FAMILY and VISIT with their FRIENDS. I am CALM, but will play TUG if you want to. I also like to go for Walks and Car Rides with my family. I am also a SUBMISSIVE DOGGIE - meaning, I will give up my TOY and FOOD to my FAMILY or OTHER DOGS. I am a BIG RUGGED looking dog with a SENSITIVE and SWEET SOUL. Sound good? Then come meet me!! I go to DOGGIE DAYCARE & Boarding Sometimes! My Foster Mom has taken me to DOGGIE DAY CARE and I have had fun playing with the other doggies. She even had to leave me there for two weeks once, and I had a ball. I am good with Most Doggies! I have lived with a French Bulldog and a Shepherd Mix. I have gotten along well with both of the dogs. Like I said I let them have the TOYS and FOOD - I am a big Push Over! There are some dogs I do not like though - so make sure I meet any dogs you live with before adopting me. I Like Car Rides! My foster family says I love Car Rides. I actually love the adventure of seeing new places and things with the ones I love. I am usually VERY GOOD in the car - just sit in the second row and watch the world go round. If I had some play time, I will actually just sleep in the second row of seats. I will BARK if there is a dog on a walk though - I can't be perfect! My Favorite Toys! Although I am more of a Couch Potato, my family wanted you to know I do like some toys. My Favorite is a TUG TOY. I also have a KONG which my family fills with treats - no wonder why I like that one. I also enjoy my JOLLY BALL - which I will chase, but not bring back. I also have had the same ROPE Toy my whole time with this family. I have chewed it, but it is still in one piece. Pretty impressive - right? I am a GREAT DOGGIE at NIGHT TIME! My Foster Family says I know the routine. When they start getting ready for bed, I run upstairs and JUMP in my DOGGIE BED which is right BESIDE their bed. I will sleep all night on that doggie bed - I am such a good boy. Of course if you let me, I will also SLEEP IN BED with YOU. I am a BIG BOY - but if there is room for me, I would love to SNUGGLE in BED with YOU!!! I am GREAT in my CRATE! As I mentioned, my foster family just says "Kennel" and I will go into the crate all by myself. I am QUIET in their too (that is unless someone comes to visit that I want to say hello to. Sometimes I just go in my crate when my family is busy - and I am quite in there - actually sleep in there. They said I can stay in the crate up to 10-11 Hours while they go to work or visit with friends and family. I am GOOD for GROOMING! My foster mom says I don't love a bath, but will tolerate it. I won't fight it at all - just sit there until it is done. I am also good (tolerate) for a nail trim. I actually LOVE it when my family Brushes me - so relaxing!!! I am GREAT with a FENCED AREA or TIE OUT My foster family has done both a TIE OUT and a FENCE with me. I have been good with both - never try to leave the yard when I am on a secure tie out or a fenced area. I LOVE to go for WALKS! My foster family do take me for regular walks. They say I am very good unless I see another doggie out for a walk. I will pull and/or bark at the other dog. If the dog is contained in the owners fenced in yard - I am good - I just get very excited when I see another dog for a walk. I am good with a prong collar or training collar. Ask more about these training tools. Are YOU the RIGHT FAMILY for ME? I am looking for a LOVING FAMILY who will appreciate my RUGGED GOOD LOOKS, CALM Nature, LOVING SPIRIT and EAGER To PLEASE Personality. I LOVE EVERYONE, but I would do best with ADULTS and/or CHILDREN over 8 Years of Age. That is because I am a BIG BOY who could accidentally knock a small child over when just saying hello. I am also a sensitive boy who would not like to be handled roughly. I am good with SOME DOGS - so if you have a dog, please bring them to meet me before adoption. I am not sure about cats - I do chase squirrels, so it is probably not a good idea to have a cat around me in the house. I am a HEALTHY DOGGIE! My FOSTER FAMILY has taken GREAT CARE of ME. They had me NEUTERED, HEARTWORM SCREENED, VACCINATED and I am on HEARTWORM PREVENTATIVE. As I do have some anxiety, they also have me on a very inexpensive anti-anxiety medication. My SAD Story! Two Years ago a very kind family saw someone driving in the city of Detroit and just open the door and throw me out of the car. The family could not believe it so they picked me up. They were not in a position to take me on, so they asked a friend to care for me. This was 2 years ago. This family tried to find a loving family for me on their own, but they have had no luck. The family just reached out to All About Animals Rescue and here is the posting. Unfortunately, my current foster family is moving, and cannot take me with them.
